How True Cost to Certificate™ Works
The system separates four numbers course shoppers routinely confuse.
1. Advertised access price
The headline amount charged by the provider: monthly subscription, annual subscription or fixed tuition.
2. Completion-time cost
For subscriptions, monthly access is multiplied by the realistic number of billing months needed to finish.
3. Required credential costs
Mandatory exam, certificate, assessment, proctoring, lab, software or tool fees are added when applicable and verifiable.
4. True Cost to Certificate™
Access cost over the completion period + required credential fees + required extras. Optional costs are disclosed separately.
Editorial rules
- Never describe one month of subscription access as the total credential price when completion normally takes longer.
- Show the advertised access price and completion-based scenarios together.
- Separate required costs from optional expenses.
- Label estimates and scenarios clearly.
- Use provider or primary sources when available and display a verification date.
- Do not imply that a course-completion certificate is an accredited degree, license or professional certification unless that status is verifiable.
